Position: Traditional Worship Director
Supervisor: Senior Pastor
Preferences: The ability to accompany a congregation on piano.
Position Overview:
The mission of First United Methodist Church is to Love Better by Doing No Harm, Doing Good, and Staying Connected with God and Each Other. The Part-Time Traditional Worship Director reports to the Senior Pastor and has responsibility for directing the Chancel Choir, coordinating the bell choir, coordinating musicians for all traditional services, and participating in worship planning meetings.
Expectations of Church Staff:

· Attend 4 church-wide events per year
· Continued faith formation and spiritual growth in one’s Christian journey.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Traditional Worship Director is to equip musicians to offer their music in traditional worship services. This is done in whatever ways make sense to the director and musicians available including but not limited to the chancel choir, bell choir, and piano and organ music.
Position Responsibilities:
Chancel Choir
· Select music
· Organize musicians
· Run practice
· Perform the music weekly at 8:30 worship service
Bell Choir
· Work with the leader to plan opportunities for them to play at worship or other activities as appropriate.
· Recruit players as possible
Regular weekly duties
· Schedule musicians for all Traditional services
· Recruit musicians to be part of the service and other activities
· Keep a list of musical talent present in the congregation.
· Be able and willing to create musical experiences and offerings as appropriate such as Christmas and/or Easter Cantata, organ recitals, etc.
· Attend quarterly planning meetings
· Attend weekly worship meetings when possible
· Add music selections to Planning Center
Children's Choir
· Direct, Organize, and Lead a children’s choir that performs several times throughout the year.
Salary: $25,000 annually
Time Requirements: 15-20 hours per week
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
