Credit Analyst

First Texas Bank is seeking a Junior Credit Analyst. This position is responsible for ensuring quality underwriting, compliance and credit monitoring within the bank’s entire loan portfolio, and supporting new business development while applying credit risk policy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Analyze financial data from tax returns and financial statements and evaluate credit risk of a customer by looking at their financial trends, repayment history, earnings information as well as any credit history.

· Work with loan officers to anticipate, identify, and collect documents needed for efficient and timely approvals on new and existing credits. Upon request, assist lending officer in making calls to clients to obtain all necessary information and clarification on financial analysis materials and resources.·

· Review credit limits of existing customers to ensure there is enough room to borrow funds.

· Pull credit reports (as needed) on individual borrowers and guarantors.

· Complete a thorough analysis of financial statements and assessment of credit requests, including new requests, change requests, refinancing and annual relationship reviews. Prepare loan write ups and summaries for loan officers and loan committees. Document any credit or collateral deficiencies and/or weaknesses that may ultimately impact collection of the credit extension. Develop and prepare spreadsheets and models to support analysis of credit requests, including cash flow models and stress testing. Review and spread tax returns using the software. Review and summarize credit histories.

· Ensure that all credit files are complete, identify any documentation deficiencies, and report to loan officer and credit administration as needed for timely resolution.

· Operate within all policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Directors. Maintain a good working knowledge of the Bank’s lending policies and procedures and identify exceptions to policy.

· Complete annual loan reviews.

· Assist in maintaining the credit tracking system to monitor annual reviews.

· Provide technical advice or other assistance to loan officers as needed.

· Complete reviews of real estate appraisals and valuations accurately and on time as assigned.

· Assist in preparation of reports for the Executive Committee and Board of Directors on a timely basis.

· As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities. Provide written loan approvals, and modify and restructure existing loans with loan officers.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Skills/Abilities:

• 3-5 years Credit Analyst experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as analysis software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to identify discrepancies and problems.

Office location for position can be at either 900 S. Austin Ave., Georgetown, Texas or 3514 S. WS Young Dr., Killeen, Texas. - candidate's choice.
