Job Title: Electrical Engineer 3
Location: Vancouver, WA (Remote candidates must reside in WA, OR, ID, or MT; exceptions considered case-by-case.). Pay rate: $75.00 - $79.00/hour.
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer 3 to support the Facilities Engineering (TENF) team in designing, reviewing, and overseeing electrical systems for substations, telecommunications facilities, and other utility infrastructure. The role involves electrical design, system analysis, code compliance, engineering reviews, and field support throughout project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review low-voltage (50V–480V) electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, transformers, panelboards, generators, grounding, HVAC, fire alarm, security, and communication systems.
- Perform station service load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies.
- Review and validate engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations prepared by internal teams and external A/E firms.
- Conduct site assessments, field inspections, commissioning reviews, RFIs, and project closeout activities.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, OSHA, and company standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver quality designs.
- Support development of engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Visit substations and project sites to verify designs and support construction activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
- 10 years of electrical engineering experience.
- 7 years designing low- and medium-voltage electrical systems.
- Strong experience with power distribution, transformers, panelboards, standby generators, motors, lighting, fire alarm systems, cabling, and grounding.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, and electrical safety standards.
- Experience reviewing engineering designs and providing technical leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with short circuit and arc flash analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.
- Experience developing engineering standards and technical specifications.
Additional Requirements
- Valid U.S. Driver''s License.
- First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.
- Substation Entry Permit (SEP) within one year.
- Ability to perform field work in substations, wear required PPE, and travel to project sites as needed.
