First Tee – Sandhills Overview
We are a youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. Position Summary
Individual will work collaboratively with First Tee – Sandhills staff, partners, and supporters to help further the mission. They will provide support and assistance with the graphic design and implementation of marketing, public relations, and promotional strategy for the organization.
They will be tasked with creating, implementing and overseeing the execution of effective messaging that grows awareness, increases youth participation and volunteer involvement, while driving new individual and corporate donor dollars. Individual will perform a variety of task, such as creation and development of online advertising, email marketing, website management and content development, and an increased social media presence – all that passionately tell our story on a cost efficient marketing budget.

Duties & Responsibilities by Area of Focus
In addition to the areas highlighted in the overall job description; the individual will be actively involved and responsible for the creation, planning and execution elements in the following areas for First Tee – Sandhills. Please keep in mind that some of these areas of focus are reoccurring on a weekly basis and others only occur monthly or annually. There is some repetition in these areas of support but the breakdown is intended to show that the individuals skills and strengths will be utilized across multiple areas of the organization’s operation.
Communications & Marketing Support
Individual should possess strong familiarity and ability to work effectively in Google Drive, META and Canva. Individual should be comfortable capturing photos and videos in a variety of settings while utilizing a shot list; then organizing content and creating video shorts, reels and snippets for a variety of sharing platforms.
In conjunction with the Marketing & Community Engagement Manager, provide support in key areas including,
· The development and oversight of annual metric goals for consumer engagement
· The design and execution of 12 Month Communication Plan including but not limited to,
o Social Media Platforms
o Targeted Monthly Newsletters
o Spotlight Series
o Photography & Videography
o Visual Youth Program Recaps
o Community Flyers/Posters/Print Ad
o Annual Impact Reports
· Maintain and update the organization’s website; supported by Wordpress
· Maintain a thorough understanding of First Tee brand voice and guidelines
· Oversee Analytics and Data Tracking of Digital Messaging through Meta and coordinating tools
· Effectively Utilize Photo & Video Editing Software for Promotional Pieces
Special Events & Fundraising Support
In conjunction with the Marketing & Community Engagement Manager, provide support in key areas including,
· Coordinate marketing, website updates, and pre-event registration for annual fundraisers and celebration events
· Create and distribute event promotional materials in the identified community markets
· Ensure adequate photography and videography coverage for all events
· Support Digital Needs for Presentations and Meetings
· Support Planning, Set Up & Execution of Bi-Annual Community ReSale Days
· Support Planning, procurement, packaging and soliciting of annual raffles and giveaways
Volunteer Program Recruitment & Retention Support
In conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator, provide support in key areas including,
- Preparing solicitation materials for volunteer recruitment
- Preparing annual thank you messages and general volunteer program recaps
- Ensure proper photography and videography coverage for recapping volunteer engagement in all outlets
Programs Support Coaching
· Be able to communicate with parents/guardians how to complete online registration, answer basic program related questions, and schedule changes
· Become proficient in the delivery of First Tee curriculum; at a minimum attend Level 1 Coach Training
· Deliver a high-quality experience through teaching youth basic golf skills and First Tee’s Program curriculum
· Provide a fun and safe environment for participants; Maintain attendance and performance records for participants
· Support school and youth-serving personnel with the delivery of First Tee programming
· During fall and spring programs, must assistant coach a minimum of one green grass and one outreach class per week
· In the summer, Assistants will be actively involved in outdoor camp operations
· Participate regularly in coach meetings, trainings, and special events provided by the chapter
General Office Operations Support
· Receive visitors, answer general questions and direct individuals to the appropriate person
· Answer phone calls and reply to general inquiry emails
· Handle in-kind donations; including securing assessments of appropriateness, retention, storage and distribution
· Support in the overall general cleanliness, attractiveness, efficient use of the office space
Salary Range and Job Type
· Hourly pay, commensurate with experience
