Position: Special Projects Production Associate

Reports To: Warehouse Process Manager

Job Summary

The First Tactical Special Projects Production Associate supports custom shop and warehouse operations by working within a LEAN manufacturing production line to efficiently complete short-term, high-priority, and ongoing special projects. This role performs a variety of apparel production and product modification tasks including sewing, heat press application, labeling, bagging, unbagging, and garment modifications.

When special project demand is low, this position rotates throughout the warehouse to support operational needs such as order picking, inventory handling, loading and unloading trucks, and general warehouse labor. This role requires flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, and a strong focus on productivity, quality, and continuous improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Special Projects / Custom Shop

• Participate in LEAN production line workflows to efficiently complete custom shop projects
• Perform production tasks including:
• Sewing and minor garment alterations
• Heat press application
• Labeling, tagging, and product identification
• Bagging and unbagging finished goods
• Apparel and product modifications
• Heat Press, cutting, weeding
• Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality standards
• Meet productivity and accuracy targets while maintaining high quality
• Identify process improvements and communicate opportunities to leadership
  

Warehouse Support (Rotational)

• Rotate into warehouse roles as business needs require, including:
• Order picking and packing
• Inventory handling and organization
• Loading and unloading trucks
• General warehouse and facility support
• Assist other departments to ensure smooth daily operations
• Follow all safety, security, and operational procedures
• Other duties as assigned
  

Qualifications/Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment
• Willingness to rotate between tasks and departments as needed
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based production setting
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible
• Experience in sewing, heat press, apparel production, or custom shop environments
• Warehouse experience (picking, packing, inventory, shipping/receiving)
• Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing or production line processes
  
  

Physical Demands/Work Conditions

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, and use hands for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Work is performed in a warehouse and production environment with varying temperatures
• Regular use of production equipment such as sewing machines and heat presses
• Repetitive motions and manual labor are required
