- Supervise, coach, and develop a team of technicians
- Ensure the fleet is safe, compliant, and road-ready every day
- Coordinate closely with dispatch and operations to keep service running smoothly
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support technicians as needed
- Review repair orders, manage parts and vendor relationships
- Monitor maintenance performance, costs, and efficiency
- Drive improvements that reduce downtime and operating expenses
- Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and company safety standards
- Step in and perform hands-on mechanical work when needed
- 5 years of diesel/heavy-duty mechanical experience, including leadership
- Strong background working on buses or heavy-duty vehicles
- Experience leading teams, managing performance, and developing employees
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make real-time decisions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable using maintenance systems and basic computer programs
- CDL with appropriate endorsements (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred)
- Hands-on shop environment with real operational impact
- Physical work required, including lifting, bending, and working under vehicles
- Exposure to typical shop conditions (dust, grease, noise)
