First Student is now hiring a Diesel Technician for our shop serving Whitman, Abington, Duxbury Academy, Norwell, Weymouth, Holbrook & Rockland!
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM | Full-Time
Pay: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour (NOT flat rate) ASE incentives

As a Diesel Technician, you'll maintain and repair a fleet of school buses to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance.
- Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) and safety inspections
- Diagnose and repair engines, brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
- Complete work orders and maintenance documentation
- Support road calls and emergency repairs as needed
- 5 years of diesel, fleet, or automotive mechanic experience
- Experience with diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL Class B (or willingness to obtain - company paid)
- Own mechanic tools
- Willingness to obtain ASE certifications (training pay increases provided)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment
- This is a safety-sensitive position subject to DOT drug testing
- DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana
