What You'll Do as a Mechanic

As a First Student Technician, you’ll perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on our newer-model fleet. You’ll use your diagnostic skills and technical knowledge to keep our buses running smoothly and safely. Your responsibilities will include:

• Conducting inspections and repairs on brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and drivetrains

• Completing detailed work orders and documentation

• Supporting on-road vehicles through mobile emergency services

Note: This position is classified as safety-sensitive under DOT regulations and is subject to drug testing, including for marijuana.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• You’re motivated by work that directly serves your community

• You have 1–3 years of hands-on experience with diesel, automotive, CNG, or electric vehicles

• You have a valid driver's license—and are open to earning a CDL (we’ll provide the training!)
