First Student is immediately hiring a Mechanic to join our dedicated team! Our technicians are essential to keeping our fleet of iconic yellow school buses running safely and reliably—ensuring students get to and from school every day.

What You'll Do as a Mechanic

As a First Student Technician, you’ll perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on our newer-model fleet. You’ll use your diagnostic skills and technical knowledge to keep our buses running smoothly and safely. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting inspections and repairs on brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and drivetrains

  • Completing detailed work orders and documentation

  • Supporting on-road vehicles through mobile emergency services

Note: This position is classified as safety-sensitive under DOT regulations and is subject to drug testing, including for marijuana.
