As an Assistant Teacher at First Steps, you will help provide developmentally appropriate learning opportunities for children with and without developmental delays and disabilities in a classroom setting.
Responsibilities
– Assist Lead Teachers with developmental assessments and up-to-date documentation.
– Gain a thorough understanding of each child’s individual challenges.
– Help making appropriate adaptions for children with special needs.
– Work with Lead Teacher to ensure classroom designs and operations meet TN State licensing standards, the 3-Star Rating Program and Tennessee’s Early Learning Standards.
Minimum Qualifications
– 18 years or older
– High School Diploma or Equivalent
– Experience working with young children

- First Steps Child Development Center is open from 7:30am-5:30pm. Teachers are generally scheduled for 8 hour work days with a 1 hour lunch break.
Pay: $16.00 – $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
