General Summary: Responsible for shared support of day-to-day operations of the staffing program, including account management, referrals, orientation, placement, and follow up. The Job Coach will facilitate the placing of clients experiencing barrier to employment with temporary/transitional work assignment, according to the needs of First Step’s employment partners.
Essential Duties:
· Coordinate with partner agencies for referrals of qualified “job ready” candidates
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessment of client skills, capabilities, and barriers to employment
- Coordinate and conduct orientation sessions for client candidates
- Maintain regular communication with staffing team, partners, and clients
- Coach clients toward strategies to obtain and retain permanent employment
- Conduct training sessions for clients who are assigned to new employment accounts
- Ensure accurate and up to date progress notes are maintained for each
- Train and supervise employment account site leads
- Maintain open communication with site lead to ensure client progress
- Provide individual and group coaching sessions (as needed)
- Ensure that transportation logs are maintained at all times (Fleet and public transit resources)
Additional Duties:
· Ensure client records (files and data) are in compliance with First Step grants and contracts
- Participate in weekly, monthly, and community meetings (as required)
- Reports regularly to supervisor on clients progress
- Complete and submit all required reporting forms, including hours worked in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Employment Services
General Qualifications:
· Experience working with individuals with barriers to employment.
- Two years progressively responsible work experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Staffing industry experience a plus
- Bilingual a plus
- Experience working with homeless individuals (volunteer work will be considered)
- Access to reliable personal transportation, valid Driver’s License, and acceptable MVR.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of individuals
- Organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Shift hours are typically 9:00am-5:00pm, M-F, but will require periodic evening and weekend hours during seasonal demand periods.
- Physical requirements include sitting for long periods in an office environment, standing/walking for long periods on job sites, lifting supplies from 10-25lbs without assistance.
- Pre-employment drug testing and background check will be required
