What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute/Teacher Assistant position at First Step Preschool?
Are you a high-energy "helping hand" who loves making a difference? At First Step Preschool, we pride ourselves on offering the very best in early education. We are looking for a flexible, loving Teacher Assistant/Substitute who is ready to jump in wherever they are needed most—whether that’s in the classroom or helping our school run smoothly behind the scenes.
The Role:
This position is perfect for someone who enjoys variety. You won’t just be in one spot; you’ll be a vital part of our entire school’s daily rhythm. Your responsibilities will include:
· Classroom Support: Assist lead teachers in implementing our curriculum (aligned with Missouri Early Learning Standards) and providing a safe, faith-based environment for our students.
· Nutritional Care: Prepare and serve simple, healthy meals and snacks, ensuring our students are fueled and ready to learn.
· Environmental Excellence: Take pride in keeping our school beautiful! This includes kitchen cleanup, sweeping, mopping, and ensuring bathrooms and classrooms are sanitized and sparkling.
Our ideal candidate is a hardworking, faith-driven professional who brings a positive Christian attitude to every interaction with our families and staff. You should be highly observant, possessing a keen eye for both a child’s developmental needs and the cleanliness of the facility. We are looking for a team player who is flexible with their hours (including opening and closing) and ready to jump in where needed—whether that’s assisting in the classroom, preparing simple meals, or keeping our school sparkling clean with a proactive "can-do" spirit.
Why Join Us?
At First Step Preschool, we value teachers who are full of positive energy. We offer a supportive team environment where your hard work—from teaching a lesson to preparing a meal—is truly appreciated by our families and staff.
