Summary:
The loan assistant/processor provides administrative/processing support for lending staff and excellent customer service to both customers and lenders.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Verifies, compiles, and prepares application information for real estate loans: Reviews residential loan application file to verify that application data is complete and meets establishment standards, including type and amount of real estate loan, debt to income, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment and pulls credit.
- Recommends that loans that do not meet requirements be denied. Takes appropriate steps to deny applicants.
- Calls or emails customers to gather information to complete documentation for file including income and asset information, surveys, contracts etc.
- Helps customer complete loan application when needed.
- Fields customers questions in regards to the process of specific loans including land loans, lot loans, interim construction loans and mortgages.
- Submits real estate loan application and supporting information into Calyx system.
- Ability to compute borrowers income using tax returns and pay stubs for qualifying purposes
- Submits approved real estate loans to RELP for processing and closing
Qualifications
- Must possess strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
- Must be able to prioritize work and follow up with minimal supervision.
- 3 years real estate/mortgage loan assistant/processor experience highly preferred.
- Calyx Point Proficiency experience preferred.
