General Summary
Commercial Loan Officer will work under the direction of the Chief Lending Officer to examine, evaluate, and recommend approval of customer applications for commercial credit loans. Commercial Loan Officer shall be responsible for servicing the bank’s existing commercial loan portfolio as well as generating new commercial loan business for the bank.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*1. Primarily processes commercial credit loans
*2. Interviews applicants and requests specific information for loan applications
*3. Requests applicant’s credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to loan applicant’s evaluation
*4. Calls or writes credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information
*5. Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation
*6. Corresponds with or interviews applicants to resolve questions regarding application information
*7. Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal
*8. Ensures all title issues are met and that loan is property recorded
*9. Reviews and analyzes title report or survey to determine issues and any present or potential risk
*10. Notifies customers of approval or prepares adverse action form for loan processor to complete and mail out
*11. Approves loans within specified limits or refers loan to loan committee for approval
*12. Compiles loan package and facilitates negotiation of loan structure with applicants, including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms
*13. Ensures loan agreements and loan files are complete and accurate according to loan policy
*14. Assures timely loan closing and funding activities
*15. Assists customer in completing all required documentation and disclosures
*16. Ensures customer understands conditions and terms of account
*17. Reviews delinquent account records to determine appropriate action
*18. Analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans
*19. Responds to customer inquiries including payment questions, payoffs, and loan values
*20. Originates loan correspondence
*21. Maintains proper correspondence and legal files
*22. Explains, promotes, and cross sells other bank products and services
*23. Participates in bank’s loan committee meeting and other committee meetings as assigned
*24. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Type of Position
This is a full-time position with hours and days of work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or three years’ experience in related field

Highly motivated self-starter with sales skills to promote bank products

Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Word

Travel Requirements
Travel will be required with this position from time to time. Customer calls to existing customers or prospective customers may require travel outside of the Williston area. Additional training may also require travel. Bank provides company vehicle for required travel or mileage reimbursement.
