First State Bank is seeking a Commercial Lending Officer at our Chesterfield (Baxter) location. If you have experience in loan portfolio management, as well as business development for both loan and depository products, this may be a good fit for you!
40 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Commercial Lending Officer will perform all duties required of this position by following policies and procedures set forth by First State Bank, including, but not limited to:
- Pursue origination/approval of commercial loan products via customer contact, financial analysis and written/oral presentations to senior management. When applicable, referrals are encouraged to be made to the appropriate department for consumer purpose loan products, deposits, home equity loans, etc.
- Approve overdrafts (up to unsecured lending authority).
- Receive lobby customers for loans and other bank questions including telephone calls, home equity draws and transfers.
- Manage an existing loan portfolio, including renewals of existing loans and the past dues that may occur.
- Answer telephone inquiries, handles dormant accounts and approves cashier checks as necessary.
- Sign loan disbursement checks, garnishments, tax levies and customer insurance claim checks for the bank.
- Complete all required compliance training and complies with the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Act as well as all regulations which apply within the scope of the position.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four year college or university preferred.
- One to two years related experience and/or training required.
