Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, drywall installation, plastering, stucco application, and surface repairs to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
• Apply paint, coatings, stains, and sealants using brushes, rollers, paint sprayers (including conventional spraying), and power tools to achieve smooth, even finishes on walls, ceilings, fixtures, and structural surfaces
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and color theory principles to accurately match colors and meet project specifications
• Use ladders safely and effectively for elevated work while adhering to all safety regulations and respiratory protection protocols
• Conduct surface preparation for construction spray painting and industrial painting projects in accordance with safety standards and client requirements
• Assist with renovation projects by installing fixtures, finishing drywall, caulking gaps, repairing stucco or concrete surfaces, and performing general handyman tasks as needed
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials while following safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Prior construction site experience or a strong interest in building trades; experience in residential or commercial painting is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level applicants
• Knowledge of construction estimating processes and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including conventional spraying), brushes, rollers, and other painting equipment
• Ability to perform surface preparation tasks such as sanding, drywall finishing, caulking, plastering, stucco application, concrete finishing, and fixture installation
• Understanding of safety regulations related to construction painting including respiratory protection and proper handling of chemicals and equipment
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coating coverage and project dimensions
• Strong communication skills for visual color comparison and collaborating effectively with team members
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders safely (ladder use), stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor in various weather conditions
