Responsibilities & Duties
The Outreach Manager will be instrumental in expanding our local business network and generating qualified leads to drive sales growth. This is a hands-on role requiring strong communication and relationship-building skills. Growth and promotions can be rapid with performance/results.
Community Engagement & Networking
- Act as the primary liaison between First Service Janitorial and the San Jose business community, maintaining a positive and professional company image.
- Actively participate in Bay Area Chamber of Commerce events, mixers, and meetings to network, build relationships, and identify potential commercial clients.
- Proactively establish and nurture relationships with fellow Chamber members, local businesses, and community leaders.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and speaking engagements to increase brand visibility within the local community.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of prospects and meticulously track all outreach activities and progress using CRM software.
Lead Generation & Market Expansion
- Conduct initial needs assessments and deliver compelling presentations outlining our janitorial services, specifically focusing on commercial business needs.
- Execute a systematic process for sourcing, qualifying, and managing purchased business leads, with a scope that may include other Bay Area cities beyond San Jose.
- Conduct market research to identify potential high-value clients and new target sectors within the greater Bay Area commercial landscape.
- Implement a proactive strategy for buying high-quality commercial leads and developing them into qualified sales opportunities.
Quality Control & Reporting
- Act as the voice of the client during the initial setup phase.
- Systematically collect feedback from newly signed commercial clients regarding the sales and onboarding process.
- Implement a quality control measure by conducting follow-up check-ins with new accounts post-contract signing to ensure satisfaction and smooth transition to the operations team.
- Provide detailed reports to management on market trends, lead quality, and the effectiveness of current outreach strategies.
- Meticulously track all outreach activities, contacts, and lead generation performance using CRM software, providing regular reports to management.
- Gather competitive intelligence on market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to inform sales and service strategy.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to outreach success, lead quality, conversion rates, and the return on investment (ROI) for Chamber activities and purchased lead lists.
- Execute a systematic walkthrough strategy targeting commercial districts and business parks in the Bay Area to generate on-the-spot leads and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and disseminate compelling outreach materials, newsletters, and social media content tailored to local business audiences.
Qualifications
- 3 years of proven experience in an Outreach, Business Development, Community Relations, or B2B Sales role, preferably within the janitorial, commercial real estate, facility management, or a related service industry.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus, given the diversity of the Bay Area.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with the Bay Area commercial landscape and local business organizations (Chamber of Commerce) is highly preferred.
- Exceptional networking and interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor suitable for interacting with commercial business owners and executives.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet weekly performance metrics.
- Proficiency in basic CRM software and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and have reliable transportation to travel frequently within the service area for meetings and events.
