What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Closer/ Funder position at FIRST SERVICE CREDIT UNION?
Role:
To schedule loan closing; to compile and type closing documents.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Prepares and reviews all documents to be signed by borrowers during the closing process.
Travels to various branch locations to facilitate loan closings by explaining all documents to borrowers and notarizing signatures.
Reviews mortgage loan information for accuracy, any missing information and regulatory requirements.
Contacts Title company, Real Estate Broker or Member to request any required documents for closing.
Enters all final loan data and calculates interest, costs, escrows, lender and third party fees to verify accuracy of all information.
Reviews title commitment requirements and exceptions to guarantee loan is within FSCU and FNMA guidelines. Reviews Tax Certs and verifies all taxing entities are collecting for correctly.
Keep up to date with all applicable State and Federal regulations regarding residential mortgage loans.
Records loan documents with appropriate county clerks office within 24 hours of closing
Scans and prepares loan documents and loan data for Loan Boarding process to FICS
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- To ensure accuracy of documentation with zero errors.
- To organize and complete member loan documents for delivery to title company or loan closing within a timely and efficient time frame.
- To provide informed, detailed and professional services to both members and associates.
- To trouble shoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely manner.
- To ensure that all documents are recorded, perfecting FSCU’s lien, within 24 hours of closing.
- To ensure that all fees, charges and pre-paid costs are correct, accurate and fully collected at closing with zero errors or cost to CU.
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
