The First Responder Support Network (FRSN)'s Clinical Program is a comprehensive, trauma-informed training and supervision model designed to prepare graduate-level student interns, associate level clinical interns and licensed
clinicians to ethically serve First Responders, and their Significant Others/Spouses in a culturally informed manner.
Grounded in evidence-based practice, professional ethics, and the unique culture of public safety professions, the program emphasizes both clinical excellence and cultural humility. FRSN’s Clinical Program integrates didactic education, experiential learning, and structured supervision to ensure high-quality service delivery while supporting professional development across all levels of clinical practice.
Licensed Clinicians and Interns work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team framework that prioritizes safety, clinical fidelity, and continuity of care. Licensed Clinicians within the program bring specialized expertise in trauma, critical incident stress, substance use disorders, and occupational mental health. They serve in dual roles as direct service providers and clinical mentors, offering psychotherapy, clinical assessments, group facilitation, and psychoeducational programming tailored to First Responders and their Significant Others/Spouses. Some FRSN licensed clinicians also provide formal clinical supervision, case consultation, and ethical oversight to interns, ensuring alignment with state licensure requirements, scope of practice, and best practices in trauma-informed care.
