What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Tax Associate position at First Recruiting, LLC?
- Perform reviews of the U.S. federal and state tax returns, K-1s, and supporting workpapers prepared by external tax advisers for the fund and general partner (“GP”) entities
- Assist the Senior Vice President, Tax in managing the tax compliance process for the funds internally and with external tax advisers
- Lead our engagement with the external tax advisers to ensure compliance with certain U.S. tax reporting requirements with respect to non-U.S. portfolio companies
- Coordinate responses to various tax notices received from tax authorities
- Ensure tax related items are properly disclosed in the financial statements for the fund and GP entities and prepare ASC 740 memos to support the audit of the funds’ financial statements
- Maintain tax allocation waterfalls and coordinate with external tax advisers as transactions occur throughout the year
- Prepare taxable income estimates for internal stakeholders and their advisers on a quarterly basis and limited partners upon request
- Correspond with tax service providers for various requests
- Serve as the tax team lead with respect to ad-hoc tax requests from the funds’ limited partners
Qualifications:
- At least four years of prior experience that demonstrates a progression of responsibility
- Prior federal tax compliance experience within the financial services group of a public accounting firm of recognized national standing is required; prior experience with private equity partnership accounting and allocations (including carried interest) is preferred
- Technologically savvy with the desire to master new applications and use technology to build efficient processes
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting or Finance; CPA or progress towards preferred
Salary : $110,000 - $145,000
