What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at First Rate Excavate?
As a CDL Driver, you play a vital role in supporting excavation and underground utility operations by safely transporting materials between job sites, pits, and customers. Drivers are responsible for ensuring loads are delivered accurately, safely, and in compliance with state and federal regulations. This position is classified as safety-sensitive.
Essential Duties, Qualifications & Work Environment:
Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport materials between job sites, pits, and customer locations
Load, unload, and properly secure materials in compliance with DOT regulations
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete all required documentation
Maintain accurate truck logs, weight tickets, and record all loads, materials, hours, and billing information
Comply with State and Federal DOT regulations and company safety policies
Maintain a valid CDL and current medical certification
Operate trucks with various transmissions and configurations
Demonstrate general knowledge of OSHA and MSHA safety practices
Willingness to work overtime as needed
This position is classified as safety-sensitive
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL
- Valid and up-to-date Medical Card
- Registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required
