What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at First Quality Tissue, LLC?
Job Description: Performs and understands quality testing requirements for converting. Maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory. Follows existing procedures applying to the Quality System. Performs testing on Production samples at specified sampling frequencies in converting. Enters required test results into the Quality Data System. Reports test results to appropriate parties in a timely manner, and assists in correcting undesired quality situations. Performs special testing for support of product development, validation, and product investigations (nonconforming goods, complaints, recalls, and returned goods). Assists in preparing and providing material, chemicals, equipment, and documents needed for performing quality functions. Completes assigned reports and recommends appropriate actions based on findings. Fills in for production personnel as required for business. Assists in internal audits as issued by the Quality Manager. Verifies data within the Quality Data System database. Verifies Converting and Paper Machine lab equipment is working within acceptable tolerances in converting. Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times. Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so. Follows necessary GMP and ISO regulations. Qualifications: Standard knowledge of computers and basic office software. Familiarity with a formal Quality System (ISO 9000, GMP/ QSR, etc.) preferred. Basic math skills; statistics knowledge a plus. Attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education or experience in quality or laboratory testing preferred. Opening will be for a 12 hour night shift position.
