Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled X-ray Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and providing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, such as a Level I or Level II trauma center.
Responsibilities
- Perform X-ray examinations on patients as per physician requests, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Operate imaging equipment, including CT scans and PET scans, to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of imaging procedures performed.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and assist in diagnosis.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
- Stay updated on advancements in medical imaging technology and techniques, including sonography and nuclear medicine.
- Adhere to medical terminology standards when documenting findings and communicating with the healthcare team.
Qualifications
- Certification as an X-ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist from an accredited institution.
- Valid state licensure to practice as an X-ray Technician.
- Experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred; familiarity with urgent care settings is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to radiology and imaging procedures.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center is advantageous.
- Proficiency in operating various imaging modalities, including CT, sonography, nuclear medicine, and PET scans.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
