Description

The Communications & Engagement Coordinator supports stakeholder engagement, communications coordination, and operational support activities for healthcare transformation, public health, and government modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for coordinating stakeholder communications, supporting governance and meeting activities, maintaining project documentation, and assisting with development of executive-ready materials and stakeholder-facing deliverables.

Working closely with program leadership, operational teams, analysts, and stakeholders, the Communications & Engagement Coordinator helps ensure consistency, organization, and alignment across communications, reporting materials, and project coordination activities.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable supporting executive communications, coordinating across teams, and translating complex operational or technical information into clear, audience-appropriate materials.

This role may support Rural Health Transformation Programs (RHTP) and other state-led healthcare transformation initiatives focused on improving healthcare access, quality, delivery system performance, care coordination, and population health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Communications & Stakeholder Support

  • Support development of stakeholder communications, executive briefings, presentations, reports, and meeting materials.
  • Coordinate stakeholder communication activities, including meeting scheduling, agenda preparation, materials distribution, and follow-up tracking.
  • Assist with development of public-facing materials, summaries, newsletters, and communication deliverables.
  • Support communication activities associated with healthcare transformation, rural health initiatives, and program implementation efforts.
  • Translate operational, technical, or healthcare information into clear, concise, audience-appropriate messaging.

Project Coordination & Operational Support

  • Coordinate meetings, governance sessions, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Track action items, deliverables, milestones, and follow-up activities across program workstreams.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, meeting notes, communication records, and version-controlled deliverables.
  • Support coordination of reporting timelines, deliverable submissions, and stakeholder requests.
  • Assist with maintaining consistency and quality across project materials and communications.

Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, responsiveness, accountability, and strong organizational skills.
  • Support a culture of collaboration, operational excellence, and client-focused service delivery.
  • Anticipate project support needs and proactively assist with coordination and communication activities.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Public Relations, Public Health, English, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting communications, stakeholder coordination, project coordination, or administrative support activities within healthcare, public sector, consulting, or government environments.
  • Experience supporting executive communications, stakeholder engagement, or project coordination activities preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare organizations, public health initiatives, or government-funded programs preferred.
  • Experience working in deadline-driven environments with multiple concurrent priorities preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop clear, concise, and professional communications.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to translate operational or technical information into audience-appropriate messaging and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and consistency across deliverables.
  • Experience supporting meeting coordination, stakeholder engagement activities, and executive communications.
  • Ability to maintain organized documentation, track deliverables, and support follow-through on action items.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional project coordination activities.

Work Schedule

Consistent, full-time work expected Monday – Friday, eight hours per day in a focused and fast-paced environment.

Primarily remote work environment with reliable internet access and a professional home office setup conducive to focused computer-based work. Position may require occasional onsite attendance at client locations, stakeholder meetings, or program-related events based on program requirements.
