What are the responsibilities and job description for the First Class Pre-K Lead Teacher position at First Presbyterian Preschool?
Auxiliary Teacher: Credential requirement: minimum CDA or 3 completed courses in early childhood development
Requirements:
-Must possess a B.S in early childhood education (teaching certification is not required)
-Complete ABI/FBI background check
-Complete TB test along with physical
Duties:
- Leads and implements age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play and structured activities
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes diversity and cultural awareness
- Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the classroom
- Follow all licensing regulations and maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of individual children
- Creativity in designing engaging activities that promote learning through play
- Strong organizational skills to manage classroom materials, records, and documentation
This is a full-time position with opportunities for professional growth within our organization. This position is Monday-Friday 7:15 am-4:15 am and is available August 2026 through May 2027.
