Full Job Description
First Presbyterian Church of Lapeer is a 191-year-old church in Lapeer, Michigan. It has been a cornerstone in the history of the City of Lapeer.
Join our warm and welcoming congregation! Traditional worship Sundays at 10:30 a.m. One weeknight choir rehearsal. Opportunities to play for weddings and funerals.
We are looking for someone proficient on organ and piano, with experience in choral accompaniment and sacred music.
Vision Statement for Position
The organist provides the congregation with the gift of music by playing the organ and grand piano, on an as needed basis, for regular and special worship services. The Organist also acts as a performance and rehearsal accompanist for the choir.
General Position Description
The Organist at First Presbyterian Church collaborates with the Pastor and the choir director to enhance the worship experience for all members of the congregation.
Additionally, the Organist is responsible for working with the Pastor to select music pieces to be performed at regular and special worship services.
This is a part-time independent contractor position that reports to the Pastor and the Chairman of the Personnel Committee.

Pay: $100.00 per 1 hour rehearsal, and $150.00 per 1 hour service.
