Job Overview

We are seeking a part-time Director of Children's Ministry. We are looking for someone who loves Christ, delights in working with children, and is passionate about partnering with families to help children from infancy through fifth grade grow as followers of Jesus.

This vital role involves planning and leading engaging programs, mentoring volunteer teams, and fostering a welcoming environment where children can explore their faith with enthusiasm and confidence. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, enthusiasm for children and their families, a deep commitment to the Christian Faith, and is creative and strategic. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the spiritual development of children while working collaboratively with families, volunteers, and church leadership.

Duties

  • Develop, implement, and oversee age-appropriate Christian education programs and worship that inspire faith, morals, and community engagement among children.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers and staff involved in children’s ministry activities to ensure a safe, supportive, and enriching environment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee special events such as the Christmas Pageant, Children's Sunday, Vacation Bible School, and outreach initiatives that promote the engagement and spiritual growth of Children and their families.
  • Collaborate with church leadership to align children’s ministry goals with the church's mission; participate in strategic planning for community outreach and faith-based initiatives.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to program scheduling, volunteer coordination, safety protocols, and record keeping in compliance with organizational policies.

Skills

  • Experience working with children in religious or educational settings is highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership abilities with proven success in volunteer management and team development within nonprofit faith-based organizations.
  • A deep commitment to Christian ministry, an understanding of Reformed Theology, and the ability to teach children without compromising quality or depth.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage children, parents, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Ability to plan engaging events that promote children to participate in faith activities; experience in event planning is beneficial.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that supports spiritual growth for all children.

Must submit to a background test and receive on-site Child Abuse Prevention Training.

Pay: $20,000.00 - $30,000.00 per year
