Position Title: Student Ministry Leader (6th-12th grade)
Reports To: Associate Pastor of Community Life, Student Ministry Focus Team
Job Type: Part Time, Flexible
Job Summary: The Student Ministry Leader is responsible for cultivating a dynamic, relational, and Christ-centered ministry for students in grades 6–12. This role focuses on creating a welcoming and engaging environment where students can explore faith, build meaningful relationships, and grow in discipleship. The Student Ministry Leader develops and leads relevant programming that connects faith to the everyday lives of students, including but not limited to weekly Bible studies on Sundays, activity nights, confirmation, one weekend retreat per year, and one week-long summer mission trip. This leader recruits, equips, and supports volunteers, fosters strong relationships with students and their families, and ensures consistent communication across the ministry. Working collaboratively with the Christian Education team, Director of Children’s Ministry, and church staff, the Student Ministry Leader helps create seamless transitions between programs and aligns student ministry with the broader mission and life of the church.

Job Responsibilities:
- Cultivate a welcoming and affirming space for students to explore faith, questions, and doubts.
- Build meaningful relationships with students through fellowship and personal invitation.
- Provide consistent opportunities for students to connect with each other and the church.
- Teach creative and engaging lessons relevant to the experience of youth today.
- Lead and attend youth events, including but not limited to weekly Bible study on Sundays, activity nights, one weekend retreat per year, and one week-long summer mission trip.
- Organize student programming, coordinate logistics for events, and recruit and manage volunteers while maintaining strong communication with families.
- Plan mission-oriented experiences for students to serve in different community contexts.
- Partner with Christian Education Staff on aiding transitions through programs.
- Collaborate with church staff on a regular basis to stay updated on all-church programming.
- Build and maintain trustworthy relational connections within the congregation to support program volunteer needs.
- Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, and using funds responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working and connecting with youth and/or children
- Experience teaching, training or presenting in a large or small group
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including familiarity with social media
- Demonstrated ability to recruit volunteers and plan events
- Have an understanding of and commitment to the ministry’s values, mission and goals
- College-level education preferred
