Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Toddler Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this dynamic role, you will lead classroom activities, foster a nurturing environment, and support the developmental growth of our youngest learners. As a Lead Toddler Teacher, you will collaborate with families, implement age-appropriate curricula, and ensure a safe, engaging space where toddlers can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans tailored to toddler age groups, incorporating curriculum development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth, positive behavior management, and active exploration.
  • Monitor and document each child's developmental progress using standardized testing methods and child development instruction techniques.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's milestones, behavior, and classroom activities to build strong partnerships.
  • Maintain a safe classroom environment by adhering to child welfare standards, mandated reporting laws, and health and safety protocols such as first aid and CPR certification.
  • Manage classroom routines efficiently, including diapering, feeding, nap times, and transitions while ensuring compliance with daycare regulations and preschool teaching standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning for literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and Montessori or other specialized teaching approaches to enhance learning experiences.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children in early childhood settings or daycare environments; preschool experience is highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management strategies, classroom management techniques, and early intervention practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and sensory play.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff members, and community partners.
  • Valid certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing professional development in childhood education preferred.
  • Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations governing childcare facilities.
  • Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young children is a plus; Montessori or specialized preschool training is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating leadership qualities necessary for a Lead role.

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
