What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer – Power Generation & Industrial Facilities position at First Point Group?
Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Generation & Industrial Facilities
Hybrid | Large-Scale Energy & Industrial Projects (P.E Energy)
Step into the electrical backbone of the next generation of power and industrial infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll be part of a high-performing engineering team responsible for planning and executing electrical designs for large-scale power generation facilities and multiple industrial tenants, including AI data centers and giga-factories. As projects advance, you’ll take ownership of electrical design scopes for either the central power facility or individual tenant facilities, guiding concepts into constructible reality.
You’ll serve as a technical authority and client-facing engineer, resolving complex electrical challenges, shaping design decisions, and ensuring the project’s unique performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements are met.
This position follows a hybrid telework model, requiring a minimum of three days per week in-office or on-site, with scheduling coordinated between you, your supervisor, and project leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and execute independent electrical engineering work, applying professional judgment to the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering methods on medium-sized projects or major assignments
- Lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical systems used in the generation, transmission, distribution, and storage of power
- Develop conceptual and detailed electrical designs for projects with specialized or uniquely complex requirements
- Act as Electrical Responsible Engineer for medium-to-large material requisitions including transformers, switchgear, substations, UPS systems, and bulk materials
- Interface directly with clients and stakeholders, clearly communicating technical issues and recommending practical, high-confidence solutions to senior leadership
- Prepare and support cost estimates, staffing plans, schedules, and work plans, aligned with project scope, budget, and execution strategy
- Interpret and apply new or special regulations, codes, standards, and performance criteria
- Coordinate electrical design approvals with client representatives
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level electrical engineers, providing hands-on guidance and professional development support
- Contribute to internal technical training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong working knowledge and application of NEC and ANSI/IEEE standards
- Proven ability to collaborate across multi-discipline engineering teams
- Experience with medium-voltage systems (34.5 kV / 13.8 kV) and low-voltage systems (480 V, 208/120 V)
- Hands-on knowledge of:
Switchgear, MCCs, switchboards, distribution boards
Power system studies, one-line diagrams, schematics, and connection diagrams
Electrical raceway design and layout
Lighting systems, grounding design and calculations, and lightning protection systems
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading industrial-scale projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Electrical Engineering (Power)
- Prior experience as a Senior Electrical Engineer on a medium-to-large industrial project
- Experience with data centers or power generation facilities is a strong plus
Why This Role
This is not a back-office design engineer role. You’ll be shaping mission-critical infrastructure that powers AI, manufacturing at scale, and modern energy systems—while mentoring engineers and influencing decisions that matter.
If you enjoy complex systems, high-impact projects, and technical leadership, this role puts you right where the current of innovation runs strongest ⚡
