Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week with occasional overtime)
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Facility Supervisor to oversee the maintenance, safety, and upkeep of multiple locations across Washington and Hancock counties. This role is responsible for building and grounds maintenance, vendor oversight, supply management, document storage organization, and ensuring company vehicles and equipment remain in good working condition. The Facility Supervisor will also support facility security efforts as needed.
This position requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work independently across various sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to employees by monitoring and responding to emails, helpdesk requests, and phone calls.
- Maintain a professional, positive image when working with employees, vendors, and clients.
- Perform minor building and fixture repairs, including plumbing, heating, painting, lighting, and furniture repairs.
- Coordinate or perform building upkeep such as seasonal window and carpet cleaning.
- Stay current with OSHA regulations and maintain compliance across all facilities.
- Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and safe.
- Ensure company vehicles remain in sound mechanical condition.
- Organize and manage document storage areas.
- Order, store, and deliver supplies to branch locations in cooperation with other departments.
- Support mailroom functions, including postage equipment, as needed.
- Conduct periodic and random building inspections; document findings and implement corrective actions.
- Hire, supervise, and coordinate third-party vendors for cleaning, maintenance, and facility projects.
- Assist with facility security measures.
Schedule
A standard 40-hour workweek is expected. Hours may be adjusted to avoid disrupting regular business operations. Some work may need to be completed:
- Before 8:00 a.m.
- After 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday afternoons
- Occasionally on Sundays
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; a 4-year degree with technical training in facility maintenance preferred.
- At least three years of progressive maintenance experience, including two years in a supervisory role; or six years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and maintenance practices.
- Ability to perform basic handyman tasks (carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, mechanical equipment, yard care).
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Familiarity with local building codes and OSHA requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Valid Maine Driver’s License required.
- Strong supervisory and vendor-management skills.

- Handle paperwork and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Hear and communicate clearly.
- Primarily office and facility environments, with exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and varying noise levels.
- Frequent travel between locations and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
