First National Bank of Brookfield is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Loan Operations team as an Entry-Level Loan Operations Assistant. This position is crucial to ensuring the smooth and compliant administration of our loan portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent mathematical abilities, and a commitment to accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
The Loan Operations Assistant will support the lending team by managing critical administrative and operational tasks, including:
- Loan File Maintenance: Manage and utilize comprehensive loan checklists to ensure all documentation is accurately present, signed, and filed prior to and following loan closing.
- Tickler System Management: Maintain and monitor the loan tickler system to track critical dates, such as insurance renewals, collateral inspection deadlines, and financial statement due dates. Proactively communicate upcoming deadlines to loan officers.
- Construction Draw Balancing: Assist in the construction loan administration process, which includes receiving and reviewing draw requests, performing calculations to verify costs against budgeted amounts, and ensuring all required supporting documentation is in place before disbursement.
- Document Preparation Support: Assist with the preparation and review of various internal and external loan-related documents.
- Data Entry and Integrity: Accurately input and maintain loan data within the core banking system and relevant software applications.
- Administrative Support: Complete general administrative duties and other operational tasks as assigned by the Loan Operations Manager.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Deep Understanding of Math: Proven ability to work accurately with numbers, perform complex calculations, and reconcile accounts (e.g., balancing ledgers, construction draws, interest calculations).
- Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (for reporting and balancing) and Word (for document preparation).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills with a meticulous approach to data and documentation.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with loan officers and management.
- Work Ethic: Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a willingness to learn the complexities of banking regulations and loan administration.
Preferred Education
- Some college-level coursework in Business Administration, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior office or administrative experience is a plus, but not required.
