Escrow Loan Servicing Specialist

First Merchants Bank is seeking an Escrow Loan Servicing Specialist to join our team! This position will perform a variety of maintenance and transactions to service and support Commercial and Consumer Loans with a focus on Escrow. Tasks are to be performed in a timely manner as deemed critical in accordance with Regulatory requirements and departmental procedures. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Support the commercial and consumer loan sales team by extending the FMB mission through responsiveness to internal business partner phone calls, emails, and other communication request methods in a professional, thorough, accurate and timely manner. 
• Manage escrow accounts for commercial and consumer loans including the collection and disbursement of taxes, insurance premiums, and other required fees related to escrow.
• Complete commercial and consumer loan maintenance submitted via workflow to the escrow queue or other authorized channels escalating the issue or resolution when necessary. This would include escrow payments. 
• Work with third party vendors to manage escrow such as Lereta, Miniter, Hub, insurance agents, taxing authorities, ect.
• Assist with testing Core Processing system enhancements.
• Open and maintain escrow accounts including preparing and reviewing escrow statements, reconciling escrow, processing surplus refunds, reporting, etc.
• Participate in special assignments as assigned.

To be successful in this role, we require the following: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Two years of experience in financial service, loan operations, servicing, or lending. 

The following would be a plus: 

• At least 1 year experience working with Commercial and Consumer loan escrow accounts is preferred.
