Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and delivering age-appropriate educational activities that promote literacy, math, and social skills
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment and encouraging good behavior through effective behavior management strategies
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, mealtimes, and nap times to ensure safety at all times
- Engage children in developmental activities tailored to their individual needs
- Help with classroom organization, including setting up learning materials and maintaining a clean, inviting space
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom, bathrooms and commons areas
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings
- Knowledge of special education techniques and working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Proficiency in lesson planning for literacy education, math concepts, and curriculum development
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families
- Classroom management expertise to foster a respectful and engaging learning environment
- Ability to work well with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions
