What are the responsibilities and job description for the Universal Banker position at First Hope Bank?
A Universal Banker is the face of the Bank, providing a top-notch customer experience and supporting the financial goals of clients through thoughtful interactions, providing banking solutions and accurately processing all customer transactions within established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assist customers with banking transactions, perform account maintenance, provide customer access to safe deposit boxes, and maintain a balanced cash drawer.
- Open new business and personal accounts and initiate wire transfers all within policy guidelines, escalating as needed.
- Discuss loan options with customers, accept and examine loan applications and forward to the next appropriate level for processing in addition to coordinating and conducting consumer loan closings.
- Position Bank products, services, and digital tools that will meet the needs of clients, make referrals to business partners, and utilize a proactive approach to grow wallet share and engender customer loyalty.
- Contribute to the vault and ATM maintenance and take an active role in branch security.
- Administrative tasks including but not limited to the branch audits, preparation of shipment, managing overdraft decisioning, and other tasks as needed.

Promote and enhance the Bank’s presence and image in the community through participation in community events, making referrals, or sharing information to spread awareness of the Bank, our products, and our services.

- Knowledge of relevant banking regulations and applicable laws.
- Knowledge of guidelines and procedures related to all job responsibilities and associated functions.
- Knowledge of risk factors that impact branch operations and safety.

- Strong math and effective communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Previous banking experience preferred.
- High School Diploma/GED required. College degree preferred.
- Previous sales experience desirable.
Licenses/Certifcation
- NMLS designation
- Notary
Working Conditions
- Lobby/professional office environment with moderate sound.
- Manual dexterity and the ability to lift bags of coin.
- Varied daily schedule including evenings and Saturdays.
- Ability to travel to branches, off-site training and meetings if required.
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $20.00 - $23.00
