What are the responsibilities and job description for the Market Manager position at First Hope Bank?
The Market Manager is responsible for all aspects of branch performance including providing oversight to daily operations, performance of the staff, and internal sales. They are accountable for the growth of their assigned retail market and portfolio which primarily includes small business lending, deposit acquisition, and client retention. The role requires developing personal relationships with clients, prospects, and team members to strengthen the Bank’s position as a market leader. Coaches and develops other leaders and team members to expand and develop client relationships while serving as a role model in providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads and executes sales initiatives to achieve branch and market goals to support deposit and loan growth. Proactively identifies opportunities for relationship acquisition and development of cross-selling additional products and services to increase overall profitability of the bank. Refers clients to business partners in wealth management, mortgage, consumer, and commercial lending.
- Drives client acquisition and retention strategies. Leads the client experience at the branch and within the market, taking immediate action to resolve client issues.
- Manages and participates in outside calling activities to small business owners, collaborating with business partners in wealth management, commercial lending, and other line-of-business segments to develop relationships.
- Ensures adequate staffing levels to support branch operations and support the recruitment and onboarding of new hires.
- Provides coaching and development to leaders and team members to provide exceptional client service; to introduce and refer appropriate products and services; and to achieve established goals.
- Communicates key information to the branch leaders and team members regarding changes to bank policies, procedures, products, and services.
- Ensures all activities, transactions and records adhere to the security and control procedures of the bank, preventing fraud, and protecting client assets.
- Serves as a back up to branch leaders within the branch network as determined by the Retail Banking Officer and/or Chief Operating Officer.
- Regularly collaborates with the Retail Banking Officer to assess, and develop strategies for branch and market performance objectives, including branch experience, associate development, financial targets, customer service standards, and operational efficiency.

Education and Experience
- College degree preferred.
- Ten years of retail banking experience.

- Ability to travel to branches, off-site training, and/or meetings as required.
