What are the responsibilities and job description for the Game Data Analyst position at First Fun?
Role Overview
As a Data Analyst for our US-based initiative, you will serve as the foundational architect of our data-driven decision-making framework. This role demands a high-impact professional capable of synthesizing complex gameplay metrics and performance marketing data into actionable business intelligence. You will be responsible for the end-to-end data lifecycle—from establishing robust telemetry schemas to optimizing multi-million dollar growth strategies—ensuring our new project achieves market-leading scalability.
Core Responsibilities
Game Design & Product Analytics
- Telemetry Architecture: Define and design the data telemetry schema. You decide what events we track to ensure we can reconstruct the player journey perfectly.
- Player Lifecycle: Analyze retention, churn, and engagement funnels to identify where players drop off and why.
- Level & Economy Balancing: Monitor win/pass rates, resource sinks, and difficulty curves for every level to ensure a "flow state" experience.
- A/B Testing: Lead the experimental design for new features, from hypothesis formulation to statistical significance testing.
Marketing & Growth Analytics
- UA Efficiency: Partner with the Marketing team to analyze CPI (Cost Per Install), ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), and LTV (Lifetime Value) projections.
- Growth & Attribution Analysis: Leverage MMP data (e.g., AppsFlyer) to de-average performance across creative sets and marketing channels, uncovering the high-value cohorts that drive project scalability.
- Marketing Intelligence: Partner with the UA team to translate complex spend data into actionable insights, ensuring our creative strategy aligns with player behavior data.
Infrastructure & Automation
- Vibe Coding & Prototyping: We value speed. You should be comfortable using AI-assisted coding (Vibe Coding) to rapidly prototype scripts, automate workflows, or build internal tools.
- Data Modeling: Maintain and optimize our data environment within AWS/Databricks, ensuring our pipelines are clean and efficient.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math, Economics, Engineering or other related quantitative fields, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years experience in Data Analytics, preferably in the Game or Tech industry.
- Technical Proficiency: proficiency in SQL, Python, R or other similar language; hands-on experience with Databricks/AWS.
- Strategic Storytelling: Proven ability to decode complex player behaviors and identify the "why" behind metric fluctuations through data-backed narratives.
- Product Sense: A genuine interest in mobile game mechanics; know what makes a casual game "sticky."
- Modern Workflow: Comfortable using LLMs and AI tools to accelerate your coding and analysis.
- Fast Learner: You have the logical foundation to quickly pick up Performance Marketing/UA concepts and apply your analytical rigor to growth challenges.

- Life and disability insurance
- Generous paid holidays and time off
