Afternoon Preschool Teacher / Aftercare Lead

First Friends Preschool is a small, relationship-based, play-centered preschool seeking a warm, reliable, and experienced Afternoon Preschool Teacher / Aftercare Lead to join our team starting in August. We are looking for the right team member to become part of our close-knit school community: someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships with children and families, can confidently lead the classroom during afternoon hours, and values collaboration, connection, and joyful learning.

Hours: Approximately afternoon hours through school closing (1pm-5:30pm, schedule TBD)

Responsibilities:

• Lead our afternoon/aftercare program and help create a calm, engaging, and nurturing environment
• Support children through play, outdoor exploration, and afternoon routines
• Provide strong classroom management and guide children with warmth and consistency
• Communicate with families and check children out with parents at the end of the day
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with the teaching team
• Clean, organize, reset, and close the school each day to prepare the environment for the following morning
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum 12 ECE units required
• Preschool experience required
• Strong classroom management skills
• Reliable, dependable, and able to take initiative
• Warm, patient, and genuinely enjoys working with young children
• Comfortable leading independently and managing end-of-day responsibilities including organizing and light cleaning.
