Duties
- Safely remove existing flooring materials including carpet, vinyl, hardwood, tile, epoxy coatings, and other building finishes using hand tools and power tools.
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, leveling, and repairing surfaces to ensure optimal conditions for new flooring installation.
- Interpret technical drawings and construction plans to accurately execute removal and restoration tasks.
- Assist with water damage restoration projects by removing damaged flooring and debris while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support installation teams with tasks such as caulking, fixture installation, buffing, and finishing touches to ensure high-quality results.
- Follow all building installation safety compliance standards during demolition and removal processes.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of debris responsibly, and ensuring safety equipment is used properly.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction estimating, flooring removal, and building material installation processes.
- Proficiency in using hand tools (e.g., pry bars, scrapers), power tools (e.g., saws, drills), and buffing equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of various flooring types including epoxy floors, vinyl, hardwood, tile laying, carpet installation, and floor refinishing techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and blueprints for precise execution of tasks.
- Skilled in manual handling of heavy materials and working efficiently on construction sites with safety as a priority.
- Experience in water damage restoration or general remodeling projects is highly desirable.
