Overview:
Manages and provides direction for the day-to-day coordination of the bank's operations department including tellers, CSRs (new deposit accounts), and accounting (proof/bookkeeping). Develops and/or approves operations objectives, policies, and procedures. Has management responsibilities for all operations department employees. Reports to the President/CEO.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a locally owned community bank, helping guide daily operations, support staff development, and strengthen relationships within the community we serve.
Duties:
- Oversee daily bank operations to ensure excellent customer service, efficiency, and compliance with banking regulations.
- Supervise, coach, and support a team of approximately 15 employees, fostering a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Work closely with staff to improve processes, resolve issues, and maintain smooth bank operations.
- Coordinate and prepare all operations departments for regulatory examinations and audits, ensuring documentation is accurate, policies are followed, and any findings are addressed promptly.
- Support business development efforts by building relationships and identifying opportunities to grow deposits.
- Monitor operational performance, manage expenses, and help ensure the bank meets its financial goals.
- Manage operational projects and improvements, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, local businesses, and the community to promote the bank’s mission and reputation.
- Ensure policies and procedures are followed and that the bank remains compliant with all applicable regulations.
- Responsible for hiring, training, evaluating, and, when necessary, disciplining or terminating department staff in accordance with bank policy and employment regulations.
Experience & Skills:
- Prior management experience with the ability to lead and support a team in a small, community-focused banking environment.
- Ability to set clear goals and turn ideas into practical, day-to-day action plans.
- Strong leadership and communication skills that encourage teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
- Comfortable having direct conversations and making sound decisions related to staff performance and operations.
- Ability to build relationships within the community and identify opportunities to grow deposits and customer relationships.
- Solid organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities and ensure initiatives stay on track.
- Clear understanding of bank operations, compliance requirements, and process improvement to maintain efficiency and regulatory standards.
- Ability to prepare for and respond to regulatory exams and audits in a thorough and organized manner.
- Working knowledge of wire transfers, ACH processing, and general back-office operations.
- Familiarity with Federal Reserve services and resources, including liquidity tools and payment systems.
- Experience with the bank core processor Jack Henry & Associates preferred.
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
