What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Specialist position at First Division Consulting, Inc?

First Division Consulting is seeking an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) professional to support the safety and health management needs of a large federal agency. This position can work remotely in one of the following locations: Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, and Virginia. This position will require up to 25% travel.
Responsibilities:
- Perform safety audits, inspections, and evaluations to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Provide safety and health assistance to management, supervisors, employees, and collateral duty safety representatives
- Complete incident reports and enter findings into safety management systems
- Provide specialty safety services and assessments addressing requirements that include ergonomics and industrial hygiene
- Develop and deliver customer training one-on-one, in groups, in classrooms, and via web-delivered media
- Provide outreach to agency employees, promoting safety awareness throughout the organization
- Investigate complaints and reports of unsafe or unhealthful working conditions; provide recommendations for abatement action; and verify completion of abatement action
- Maintain recordkeeping for injury/illness cases in accordance with OSHA requirements
- This position requires an active Public Trust clearance. The selected qualified candidate must be able to successfully pass a DHS/TSA background investigation and clearance process
- Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental health, health physics, or other safety-related field is required; plus two (2) to five (5) years of relevant occupational safety and health work experience. Additional safety and health certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), highly desired
- The successful candidate must have a strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, including 29 CFR 1910, 29 CFR 1926, 29 CFR 1904, and 29 CFR 1960
- Experience supporting federal program managers and excellent customer engagement skills
- Ability to monitor and track program/project performance and support reporting requirements
- Ability to analyze and present technical data to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with developing and providing health and safety-related training; classroom and web-based
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong skills with Microsoft Office software and utilization of information systems
