Wealth & Trust Assistant - Sioux Falls

We are hiring a full-time Wealth & Trust Assistant to join our Sioux Falls team. This person will help assist and serve clients to reach their financial goals. Collaborate with Wealth & Trust Officers in the administration of trusts, estates, conservatorships, IRAs and investment agency accounts. Process routine transactions including client bill paying, account opening and closing, account maintenance and client statements. Prepare correspondence, scan and file documents, schedule meetings, handle incoming and outgoing faxes, emails and mail and respond to client inquiries. Hours include Monday-Friday 8-5.

Duties

  • Assist the Wealth & Trust Officer in every aspect of trust administration and customer service
  • Point of contact for clients on non-investment inquiries, deposits and distribution requests
  • Prepare opening and closing account documents; review to ensure all new account documentation has been completed and scanned
  • Understand and utilize the trust accounting software system
  • Compose, write, scan, fax, copy and mail business documents
  • Prepare, image, index and check-back documents to maintain electronic files
  • Open mail and respond or forward; prepare check deposits and forward to Operations
  • Code client invoices and prepare for payment
  • Assist with reports, presentations and handouts for prospects and client meetings; help organize seminars and luncheons
  • Enter disbursements and other information into the trust accounting system for approval
  • Execute Wire, ACH, and internal transfers for Operations
  • Periodic review of tickler and trust accounting system action items
  • Review transaction history for accuracy and consistency
  • Prepare discretionary distribution forms and supporting documentation for administrator and/or committee review and approval
  • Coordinate annual trust tax returns and track completion of required IRS filings and corresponding refunds
  • Track payments on various accounts
  • Monthly and quarterly income distributions – calculate and enter into system for approval
  • Account Reviews – compile data and enter into account review form
  • IRA’s - Coordinate with Operations the Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) amounts and notice requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ability to process a variety of tasks accurately and efficiently, the capability to maintain strict confidentiality, attention to detail and comply with all Bank policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with various types of clientele, co-workers and departments to resolve an assortment of needs. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Punctuality is a must.

Education/Experience

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent for two-year college or technical school in Finance/Investments, and-or Accounting
  • Two years related experience and/or training
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Work Environment

Office: The work environment of this job includes interacting with others in an office setting, and the noise level is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

Light: The physical demands of this job include bending, sitting, and occasionally lifting up to 10 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
