Summary/Objective
Supervises the day-to-day activities, programs, procedures, and administrative needs of the Credit Management department. Professionalism, discretion, confidentiality and a positive attitude are absolute essentials of the position that supports our FIRST values.
Essential Functions

- Assist as a leadership resource for CMD team and credit union staff needing credit management assistance.
- Resolve staff and member escalation concerns.
- Process Real Estate and Consumer Loan Workouts and manage timely and accurate reporting of these loans.
- Impair loans and assign loan classifications to watch list Real Estate Loans. As well, drafts Action Plans on criticized/classified loans.
- Responsible for overseeing the Bankruptcy process on bankrupt accounts and following Bankruptcy guidelines.
- Works closely with 3rd parties, such as; Real Estate Agents, Brokers, Legal Firms, Contractors, Title Companies, etc.
- Manage monthly reporting of Foreclosures in Process.
- REO Management, including but not limited to; creating REO Budgets, working closely with realtors to manage property sales, management of REO expenses/GL balancing, etc.
- Responsible for the monthly loan reporting for all classified / criticized Real Estate Loans.
- Responsible for the monthly reporting for all Consumer Loan delinquencies and bankruptcies
- Managing the approval process for Short Sales.
- Responsible for the administration of the Collateral Protection Insurance program.
- Provide oversight and support of the Account Resolution Representative and Specialists functions.
- Refer accounts to repossession agencies, attorneys, collection and reporting agencies as appropriate.
- Works closely with others within the department to ensure recovery process follows Bankruptcy guidelines as well as making sure vendors are paid in a timely manner for their work.
- Must possess Notary License.
- Administration of the department’s collection program; working closely with the third-party servicer.
- Submit for refunds on Extended Service Contracts (Gap, Warranty, etc.)
- All work must be documented in the FCU collection software timely and accurately.
- Participate in department staff meetings and attends other meetings, seminars or training.
- Comply with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
- Completes special projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical presence in the office setting is required. This position may be remote eligible with prior approval from executive management. Employee must acknowledge FCU Remote Teleworker guidelines and adhere to other terms and conditions which are subject to change at management discretion. Terms and/or conditions can be modified/terminated at any time with or without prior notice.
Physical Demands
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Ability to work 40 hours; Monday – Friday. Periodic overtime may be required.
Travel
Periodic travel to other FCU locations may be required.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
- Associates degree preferred.
- Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Previous credit management experience with a credit union highly desirable.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Multi-lingual capabilities to include Spanish are a plus.
