First Community Bank of Central Alabama is a commercial bank that has been open since August 2001. We currently have offices in Wetumpka, Millbrook, Eclectic, Prattville, Tallassee, South Tallassee, West Prattville, Pine Level and Holtville. We operate a Wealth Management Division and a full-service mortgage company, First Community Mortgage.

About the Role:

The Full Time Teller at our Pine Level location plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service while accurately processing a variety of financial transactions. This position is essential in maintaining the trust and satisfaction of our clients by ensuring all banking activities are conducted efficiently and securely. The teller will serve as the first point of contact for customers, providing assistance with deposits, withdrawals, account inquiries, and other banking services. Additionally, the role involves identifying customer needs and referring them to appropriate banking specialists to support their financial goals. Ultimately, the teller contributes to the overall success of the branch by upholding compliance standards and fostering positive customer relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in banking or financial services.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work full-time hours at the Prattville or Pine Level Branch location.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using banking software and teller systems.
  • Knowledge of banking products, services, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Process customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and timely service to all customers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Maintain compliance with banking regulations, internal policies, and security procedures to safeguard customer information and assets.
  • Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell bank products and services by understanding customer needs and referring them to appropriate specialists.

Skills:

The required skills such as attention to detail and basic math are essential for accurately processing transactions and maintaining cash drawer balances. Strong customer service skills enable the teller to engage positively with clients, ensuring their needs are met and fostering trust. Familiarity with banking software enhances efficiency in daily operations and helps in managing customer accounts effectively. Preferred skills like knowledge of banking products allow the teller to identify opportunities for cross-selling and provide informed referrals. Communication and teamwork skills are vital for collaborating with colleagues and delivering a seamless customer experience.
