Medical Laboratory Technician

Overview

A large women’s health group is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to join our busy laboratory team. This is an opportunity to support a high-volume practice and play an important role in delivering accurate, timely results for our patients and providers.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating clinical chemistry instruments and performing PCR testing. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable managing a steady volume of specimens while maintaining a strong commitment to quality.

Duties

• Collect blood and other specimens, including through phlebotomy and venipuncture, using aseptic technique.
• Process, label, and handle specimens according to established procedures.
• Record results and patient information through data entry in EMR/EHR systems.
• Provide patient service and customer service while supporting patient care, including taking vital signs when needed.
• Follow laboratory safety and quality procedures; safely manage tasks that may involve heavy lifting.

Skills

• Perform laboratory testing using clinical chemistry instruments and PCR-based molecular testing systems.
• Prepare, process, and analyze patient specimens according to established laboratory procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Perform and document quality control, instrument maintenance, and other required laboratory activities.
• Review test results for accuracy and follow established procedures for reporting and escalating concerns.
• Maintain accurate records and patient confidentiality.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and notify management when orders are needed.
• Follow applicable laboratory safety, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with providers and laboratory team members to support timely patient care.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 25.0 per week
