What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Center Director position at First Class Early Learning Center?
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Center Director to lead our licensed early learning center. This hands-on leadership role blends instructional guidance with administrative management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in staff supervision, be knowledgeable in social-emotional learning (SEL), and actively promote family engagement and student enrollment. The Director will oversee daily operations, provide ongoing support to teaching staff, and ensure a nurturing, inclusive, and high-quality environment for all children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the preschool and infant center, ensuring high-quality care and education.
- Supervise, support, and mentor teaching staff; provide coaching and professional development.
- Conduct regular classroom observations to support teacher growth and maintain instructional quality.
- Take lead in the classroom in the absence of staff to maintain ratios and continuity of care.
- Monitor weekly lesson plans to ensure alignment with curriculum standards and developmental goals.
- Implement and support curriculum aligned with child development principles and SEL strategies.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and internal policies.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding their child’s progress and center updates.
- Promote and lead family engagement initiatives and maintain positive parent relationships.
- Support student recruitment and enrollment through community outreach and referrals.
- Conduct developmental assessments and utilize appropriate screening tools to support learning.
- Use Procare, Brightwheel, and digital platforms (Word, Excel, Google Docs) for documentation, communication, and administrative tasks.
- Manage classroom budgets, supplies, and schedules.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in early childhood education.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
- Experience with family engagement strategies and student recruitment.
- Knowledge of state licensing requirements and early childhood best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Certifications:
- Site Supervisor Permit or Higher
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or must be obtained upon hire).
- Mandated Reporter Training (or must be obtained upon hire).
