FIRST CITY HEAD OF SAFETY & SECURITY
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Core Mission
Ensure the church campus is clean, safe, welcoming, and ready for ministry so people can Know Jesus, Experience Family, Discover Hope, and Live Sent. By leading the Security team and stewarding the campus well, this role helps create environments of stunning excellence.
1. Campus Safety Oversight
Maintain a secure campus through controlled access, monitoring, and daily presence.
Oversee security measures (cameras, alarms, entry points).
Conduct routine safety checks and risk assessments.
2. Student & Staff Protection
Ensure safe arrival, dismissal, and movement throughout the day.
Aid in check-in/out procedures and authorized pickup policies.
Support staff in maintaining a safe environment for all students.
3. Team Leadership
Lead, train, and schedule security personnel or volunteers as needed.
Promote situational awareness and a calm, professional presence.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all security matters.
4. Emergency Preparedness
Lead emergency plans (lockdown, fire, weather, medical).
Conduct safety and security drills with staff and students as needed.
Coordinate with local police, fire, and EMS.
5. Incident Response
Respond to and document security incidents.
Communicate with leadership and implement follow-up actions.
6. Policy & Coordination
Maintain clear security policies and procedures.
Partner with school and church leadership to ensure alignment.
Oversee safety for events and shared campus use.
7. Culture & Presence
Maintain a visible, approachable presence on campus.
Balance strong security with a welcoming environment.
