Test Engineer II

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): NC, GA, AZ and TX.

The Software Test Engineer is a vital role for the implementation and establishment of a quality process in our IT Testing organization. This individual leads efforts for testing organization in support of the business teams. This role is an active partner in test design, planning and execution working on multiple projects and department initiatives. Supports and ensures successful delivery of organizational transformation and goals across all business verticals, delivering high quality product for our clients. This role requires coordination with team across multiple time zones for global projects and working with teams located around the world.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall quality of IT projects and changes through execution of all aspects of the Software Development and Testing Life Cycle
• Lead, develop, monitor and execute test activities projects and department initiatives
• Work closely with development and business partners to ensure timely collaboration and resolution
• Prepare test documentation (test strategy, test plan, test summary report, test cases, defects, daily status reports
• Work closely with globally distributed teams to ensure continuous support and test execution in various time zones
• Facilitate daily triage/scrum meetings, follow defect through closure
• Monitor environmental impact, communicate potential risks, provide mitigation plan
• Provide requirement traceability metrics
• Implementing test automation utilizing current frameworks and tools
• Build and maintain data driven test automation frame works and write automated tests for both functional and performance testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Systems engineer and systems programmer OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Systems engineer and systems programmer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current FCB contractor
• Experience with Selenium, Cucumber , Java and Git Lab for automating test scenarios and managing test scripts
• Familiarity with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
• Hands on experience in testing APIs and web applications
• Experience with Jira and Xray for defect tracking, writing functional and end to end test cases and executions
• Deep understanding of the software development life cycle, Agile methodologies - Scrum, Kanban and testing in these environments
• Strong Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
• Solid understanding of financial systems and operations
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable communicating cross management levels and different functions to report on test progress, risk, issues and updates
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment, adjusting to continuous innovation and changing requirements
• Experience with building and maintaining test automation framework, including test automation scripting, scheduling and reporting
• Demonstrated experiences in designing test cases and executing test plans for complex systems to ensure appropriate coverage and control
• Experience working with teams across multiple geographical locations ensuring smooth collaboration across time zones
