Systems Engineer (Data Protection)

Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

This Data Discovery Engineer position is responsible to implement technical data protection solutions leveraged across the Bank through applying engineering principles and technical expertise. This role will work to implement solutions related to data discovery, data mapping, enhancing the bank's inventory of data processed across the Bank and automating operational processes. This role requires the ability to analyze requirements, and design and deliver scalable technical solutions. Experience with enterprise data protection platforms as well as a basic knowledge of industry practices within a regulated industry is required.

Responsibilities

• Data Protection Expertise - Works to develop a working knowledge of technology, emerging threats, and privacy and security trends within the assigned technical area. Contributes to technical projects which interact with other business units. Ensures training is planned and completed related to current trends, threats, and applicable technologies.
• Data Protection Platform Expertise - Develops, deploys and expands Data Protection platform solutions including OneTrust and/or BigID (or similar platforms such as ServiceNow, Archer, Symantec or Purview) and Reporting solutions including Tableau is preferred.
• Technical Engineering - Administers tools and processes which implement Data Protection controls including working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals including working with REST and SOAP-based APIs. Experience in data structure and inspection technologies such as: JSON, XML, REGEX, Python required.
• Technical Engineering - Expertise in at least one language such as Java or Python. You should be familiar with data structures, algorithms, runtime complexity, API, and database design, as well as unit and functional test methodologies.
• Software Development Experience - Experience in software development, testing and code review in one or more general purpose languages, agile methodologies, and the software development lifecycle.
• Testing and Solution Validation - Responsibilities also include performing testing and debugging of the Bank's Data Protection platform and documenting procedures for installation, operations, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Application software programming OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Application software programming
