Role Summary
As a Facilities Team Member at FCC, you’ll help keep our church spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through our doors. From setting up for Sunday services and special events, to handling light repairs and making sure every room is ready to go—you’ll play an essential behind-the-scenes role in helping ministry happen. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Clean, Safe Spaces: Sweep, mop, vacuum, clean restrooms, empty trash, and sanitize surfaces to keep all areas looking sharp.
- Tackle Light Maintenance: Handle basic repairs—like changing light bulbs, tightening fixtures, or minor plumbing fixes—as needed. Depending on experience, there may also be opportunities to assist with light construction or building projects.
- Event & Room Setup: Help with setup and teardown for meetings, events, and weekend services.
- Groundskeeping Support: Mow lawns, remove weeds, maintain landscaping, and keep outdoor areas neat and welcoming.
- Stock & Supply: Keep an eye on cleaning supplies and restroom products; restock as needed.
- Security Checks: Ensure doors and windows are secured as part of regular building checks.
- Respond to Emergencies: Be ready to help with spills, floods, or other urgent needs that may pop up.
Qualifications
- Someone who is handy, hardworking, and has experience with basic maintenance or groundskeeping
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of the role
- Comfortable operating lawn equipment and performing regular landscaping tasks
- Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented
- A committed and growing follower of Jesus who sees their work as worship
- Flexible schedule, with willingness to serve during special events or weekend services as needed
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment physical
Schedule and Expectations
- Weekly schedule set by the Facilities Director up to 25 hours per week
- Participate in “All Hands On Deck” events (major holidays, large events, etc.)
