What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infant Assistant Teachers for First Christian Preschool position at First Christian Church Preschool?
We are seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Infant Teachers to join our loving team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Infant Teachers to provide attentive care, support developmental milestones, and create a warm, engaging environment for our youngest learners.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in caring for infants (ages 6 weeks to 12 months) through feeding, diapering, comforting, and play.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom that meets Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers.
- Assist with lesson implementation that encourages sensory exploration, early language, and fine/gross motor development.
- Record daily routines, feedings, and diaper changes in Brightwheel for parent communication.
- Help maintain classroom organization, sanitization, and preparation of materials.
- Build trusting, positive relationships with infants, parents, and co-workers.
- Participate in staff meetings and required training hours annually.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Child Development coursework preferred.
- Experience working with infants or in a licensed child care setting strongly preferred.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, sit on the floor, and engage actively with infants.
- Must pass a background check and meet Texas Child Care Licensing requirements.
